This past weekend, my love nuggets and I went to visit our nearest Albertsons, which happens to be the NEW Albertsons on Broadway, to check out the many ways they’ve made Valentine’s Day an effortless experience for us romantics. Boy, did we find plenty of options! From Valentine’s Day events to ideas for budget conscious couples, made for you gift baskets to Valentine’s Day supplies for the kiddos! I can honestly say Albertsons is a one-stop-shop for all Treasure Valley families. I hope you enjoy these suggestions and feel inspired to run to your nearest Albertsons for all of your Valentine’s Day needs!

Valentines Day Night At Home
Cooking for Two At Home:
Looking to stay home and make it more of an intimate night? That’s perfect too! Pick up any one of the Plated Meal Kits offered at all Albertsons’ locations, a few Debi Lilly candles, wine, and box of chocolates, for a more special one on one night of love.
This idea is my favorite, and what we’ll probably end up doing on Valentine’s Day night since it falls on a school night. I love that Albertsons carries Plated Meal Kits and the convenience these kits offer. I usually pick up 2-3 meals per week to make at home and they’re so easy to follow and the results are always elevated and tasty dinners. I can’t wait to incorporate a little romance into our dinner experience this Valentine’s Day.

Where there’s a mother, there is LOVE. And as a mother myself, I can attest to these ideas. Only because this is exactly what I’d love and consider to be the best Valentine’s Day gifts (if you’re reading this make sure you show this to my husband).

Trust me when I tell you this – mommy needs a break! What better way to do so then by giving her a break from dinner duty? Head to Albertsons’ Kitchen & Deli to pick up a restaurant style meal of your heart’s choosing. They offer a variety of pre-made restaurant style dinner options for everyone in the family, especially your picky eaters, so mommy doesn’t have to worry. Our favorite dinner department- their Sushi Department! I love how we can have our sushi made fresh right in front of us to either take home or eat in store!

Fact: It’s not a TRUE Valentine’s Day without Valentine’s Day Pastries! Another fact: I don’t know a mother out there who’d turn down a freshly made dessert. If there was ever a reason to visit Albertsons, besides all of its other greatness, it’s for their Pastry department! They have a Hot Cheeto Cake for crying out loud! No, but in all seriousness, all of their cakes, donuts, cookies, cupcakes and delicious sweet concoctions are made FRESH DAILY. So if mouthwatering desserts are the way to your momma’s heart, Albertsons has you covered. Plus, if she loves you she will share, so it’s a win win for everyone, right?!
Flowers For Mommy
Nothing brightens up a room and mother’s heart more than flowers from her little one/s. Albertsons’ Floral Department is your next level floral department. With products and inspiration from Debi Lilly, available exclusively at Albertsons, you can pick up beautifully pre-made arrangements, have one specially made right in front of you or simply pick up a few of her favorite bunches of flowers from their huge selection. Did you know most of Albertsons’ flowers are flown in straight from Venezuela or Ecuador? Make sure to share this fun fact with her and I’m sure it will leave her feeling extra special!

Convenience at its best! If you’re a procrastinator, like my husband, these premade gift baskets will be your heroes. They have a variety of different options for your lady. As you can see here, no matter what your lady’s into there’s a basket for her taste and ready to be picked up at anytime. BUT don’t wait to the very last minute either.

If your lady is a traditional flowers, wine and chocolates combo kind of gal, then Albertsons has you covered, once AGAIN! With their wine section offering a variety of over 2K different types of wines?! Yes, I will repeat that once again so you don’t have to go back and re-read. Albertsons on Broadway has a variety of over 2,000 wines to choose from! Cause nothing says I love you like wine! And don’t think for one second they’re lacking in the chocolate department. Here’s a little sample of what I would prefer my husband to pick up if he was to go this route! Easy peasy and still gets the job done!
Flowers That Keep On Giving
Another great & easy option that’ll keep on giving throughout spring and summer is Albertsons’ variety of potted orchids, flowers and house pants. This is a gift I’d LOVE since it would allow me to decorate my porch, yard or adorn an area in my house for a longer term! It’s hard to miss this beautiful section as you enter the store. If I could leave with a new plant each visit, I would, but I don’t because my house would be covered in beautiful greenery!
For The Entertainer
Albertsons has taken their mission of becoming a one-stop-shop very seriously, so it comes to no surprise when I tell you they have a DISHES department. If your lady loves to cook, bake and entertain, then this section is for her. This section hosts more than beautiful kitchenware. You will also find art form local artists, and decorating pieces to make any section of her kitchen full of love and ready to entertain.

BSU Gear He Will LOVE
You can always count on Albertsons for a solid Boise State section to help dad get ready for some good ole tailgating or show his Bronco spirit in BSU gear for game day. So many good ideas, dad would love, all in one section – their FAN ZONE. My top picks from this section: one of the heavier duty coolers, a BSU sweater or BSU windbreakers. There’s no way to go wrong with this idea!
From the Kiddos:
This section also offers a great variety of simple and affordable gifts your little one could gift daddy for Valentine’s Day. For example, BSU socks, a BSU cap, and or a BSU beer koozie to keep their dad’s favorite local beer nice and cold.
Pick Up His Favorite Local Snacks
One of my favorite things about Albertsons is how supportive they are of local vendors, which is how we were introduced to my husband’s favorite local snack – Teton Valley Brands’ IDAHO Real Potato Chips. Trust me when I tell you, these are the best potato chips you will ever taste. Albertsons also carries local brands in every department, from local salsas to handcrafted gourmet marshmallows by Fireside Mallow Co, to local beers and wines and so much more. Oh, and don’t forget to grab his favorite magazines and throw in some gift cards to his favorite places to shop.

I asked my husband besides a thoughtful gift, what else would re-win his heart on Valentine’s Day? And of course he answered – a nicely cooked steak. Growing up, Valentine’s Day was always my absolute favorite holiday. Something about getting to make your own box, pick out your own cards that expressed what you were into and giving and receiving love notes was so thrilling and gave me so much pleasure! When we were at Albertsons Lia kept swooning over all the adorable stuffed animals they had all over the store. She took a huge liking to a darling multi-colored llama. Ever since she was old enough, we’ve been giving Lia a little Valentine’s gift every Valentine’s Day, which consists of a cute little Valentine’s stuffed animal and chocolates. Sometimes, if something else happens to catch our eyes, we will throw that in too. Albertsons had a great selection of all of these things.
