I know, I know, this is a strange combo – a mini skirt and scarf – but the weather here in Boise has been quite a challenge. Our mornings are chilly and by the afternoon it’s reaching the high 70’s, making getting dressed for the day a tricky task.
For this look, I paired these two 70’s inspired pieces – this buttoned A-line denim skirt and bell sleeved mock turtle neck. I opted for a this burgundy top to keep me warm during the first part of the day. And this Forever 21 Skirt was the next essential piece to my transitional look. I’ve been taking advantage of skirts lately, especially because I’ve really been wanting to dress for Fall, with long sleeve tops, and skirts allow for air flow to keep you cool during those warmer afternoons. If you’re anything like me and you’re always cold, adding an oversized scarf will add that extra layer you don’t have to commit 100% to. If it gets too hot just take it off! It’s a multipurpose piece; you can wear it as an accessory to your look, like I did here, as well as use it as a shawl for warmth. Winter on top and Summer on the bottom makes for a perfect transitional outfit.
I completed my look with these deep chestnut high heel booties to add length to my short legs and deep plum lip to complement my top. MUAH
So many ways to dress for this in between season! Your top 2 must have pieces to avoid being too cold or to hot would have to be a skirt and an oversized scarf, the rest is just personal preference! Stay tuned for my opposite approach to this transitional piece!
Thank you SO SO much for reading!
