When it comes to my wardrobe, I believe in dressing bold and unpredictable just as much as I believe in simplicity and feeling comfortable and relaxed, which is why mixing both style concepts is one of my favorite things to do when dressing myself, especially in the summer! A great way to pull this off is to pair a statement top or bottom with an opposite simple/casual piece. LOOK NO.1
One of my favorite places to find casual but refined tops is Splendid! They offer a variety of quality tops, from tanks to v-necks, button ups to off the shoulder bodysuits, like the red bodysuit I’m wearing here! I ordered it in medium because I wanted more of a relaxed fit. For this look, I paired two simple pieces to down play my treasured ‘CLEARER’ heels from Steve Madden, which I wear religiously because they add length to my legs (yessa Steve Madden). Although, one could argue my bodysuit and heels are both statement pieces, I’d like to think this bodysuit has more of a playful and sophisticated appeal, more so than a bold one! However, to help dial down the vibrance of this look, I went with these must have MOTO Ripped Mom Shorts from Topshop because we all know, white shorts go hand in hand with summer and their fit is exceptional. To finish this look off, I picked up this charming ROLO Half Moon Cross Body Bag from Topshop, as well. I love that I can ditch the strap and have a purse/bracelet, which is what I did in look NO.2! Never underestimate the power of a casual black tank, good strappy heels and red accessories, especially when combined to make the perfect all black look! Yes, you guessed it, this Jersey Scoop Tank is from Splendid and it tucked perfectly into this show-stopping tasseled skirt or would be great with a pair of dark denim jeans too! I completed this all black look with these classic ankle strap heels from Steve Madden. If you ask me, every girl should have these 2 versatile pieces in their closet, to wear together or as staples for a ton of other looks. As you can see, I ditched the strap on this ROLO Half Moon Cross Body Bag from Topshop and voila, it transformed into a completely different bag!
