Dealing with temperamental weather can become quite a daunting task, especially living in Idaho. During this time of year, it will snow one day and then be in the high 60s, the next. So dressing for this weather calls for some plan A and B forethought, which is why I love the look I’m sharing with you today. It’s a perfect combination of spring/summer on the top and fall/winter on the bottom! It’s not often you see someone styling faux leather pants in spring, but I couldn’t help myself when I saw these high-waisted lace up trousers on Missguided. Plus, who can say no anything with lace up details!
Here I have incorporated 3 crucial pieces and tips to keep in mind when putting looks together for temperamental climates. First, keep your lower half covered and warm. Meaning, don’t put away your pants, leggings, or denim pants just yet, especially those faux leather trousers/leggings. As much as I long to bust out my shorts, skirts and sun dresses, I also don’t want to look like a fool and end up in a freezing predicament! There’s nothing more I hate than being cold; I’ll avoid it at any cost. These trousers are a perfect fit for this rule, plus they have it all – lace up detail, high-waisted and the tie up detail – which make for a unique twist to everyone’s favorite faux leather pant. Second, keep your top light and airy. Your top can consist of a short sleeve or no sleeve bodysuit, tank top, short sleeve crop top or any blouse with short sleeve. Pretty much anything that’ll layer perfectly underneath a light khaki jacket, denim jacket, scarf or duster, as well as unlayer to let a little spring breeze cool you down. As you can see I opted for a no sleeve crop top here. Third, a light cover up – duster, khaki jacket, light bomber or denim jacket – is essential to keeping you comfortable, whether it’s needed for warmth or as back up.
